The apprentice development programme is an opportunity for the business to develop skills and knowledge for the future and to bring in fresh perspectives and ideas,
At the same time enabling people to earn as they learn their trade and gain a recognised Level 3 qualification (equivalent to a BTEC).
We’re looking for a number of Mechanical and Electrical apprentices to develop the skills to maintain equipment and assets on in Quarries, Asphalt Plants and Concrete Plants and respond to breakdowns and planned work. We will be looking for candidates who are interested in how things work, who like thinking things through and coming up with practical solutions
For all of these roles, you will need to have a good level of academic qualification, and will have/expect to achieve five GCSEs grade C or above including Maths and English.
The apprentice development programme will involve practical learning and studying for recognised qualifications. The first year of the Apprentice programme will largely be spent studying the academic and practical elements of the role and the remaining 2 years applying this learning on the job.
We will be looking for candidates with practical and technical aptitude and who can demonstrate an interest in science, engineering or technology and who are interested in a career in engineering. Equally importantly we will be looking for people whose attitudes and behaviours are in line with our Values.
